Human-tumor derived cells lines have been established from both breast, prostate and hematologic specimens. These cell lines are stable in culture and are free of known human pathogens. These cell lines are used as controls for diagnostics as well as research tools for molecular pathways and drug development.
Asterand Bioscience has extensive scientific expertise in the isolation and propagation of human primary cells. Primary cells offer relevant and reproducible in vitro models for investigation of molecular pathways associated with the disease state and the pre-clinical evaluation of new compounds.
We isolate primary cells from both normal and diseased tissue. Our primary cells are typically provided cryopreserved at passage 1. Each lot of cells also undergoes rigorous QC testing to ensure quality and are known to be free of common human pathogens (Hepatitis A, B, and C, HIV1 and HIV2) and test negative for bacterial, fungal and mycoplasma contamination.
TMAs provide our customer with a screening tool representing multiple donors. TMAs can discover new protein or genetic markers and as tools in diagnostic development and validation. Tissue arrays can also measure protein, RNA or DNA markers, and are compatible with immunohistochemistry (IHC) staining and potentially In Situ Hybridization (ISH). Standard human derived TMAs of tumor and normal samples are available for research studies (from FFPE or Frozen tissue). Products are available both as sections as well as whole block. Custom TMAs are available upon request.
