Autoradiography

Analysis of drug binding in frozen sections of human tissues can be valuable in studying both the distribution of specific receptors and the pharmacology of the compounds under evaluation. Asterand Bioscience performs both radioligand binding and functional-(GTPγS) autoradiography. This typically occurs in brain sections, but also in some peripheral tissues (e.g. gastrointestinal tract).

Receptor density can be quantified via grey density measurements with reference to autoradiographic standards (not shown).
